SPIRITUAL HEALTH

Community Groups (small groups)
Community Groups should be the heart and soul of relationships within the body of believers. Weekend services offer a few opportunities to connect but, groups are where growth can really deepen:
  • Most groups meet once a week but, some groups meet less frequently.
  • Groups usually focus on learning using book studies or other curriculum.
  • Serving groups work together to fill a need to the community
  • Groups can be all women, all men, young adults, married couples, or mixed groups.

Prayer Ministry
Nothing is more powerful than answered prayer. It shows that God still hears us and still delights in answering our prayers:
  • Team members gather together at different places and times to pray over the needs of our body.
  • The Prayer Ministry works together with the Worship ministry to arrange Prayer and Worship Nights. We have the opportunity to praise God in a corporate setting and lift up the needs of God's people.

Women's Ministry
Scripture has many examples of women enhancing God's kingdom through ministry. This ministry provides growth opportunities through retreats, food and drink, activities, or other events to bring about community:
  • Retreats offer time away from the daily routine.
  • Getting together for meals or tea to share a little bit of each other's lives.
  • Various activities, such as knitting, allow women to accomplish a purpose or task.
  • Women can pair up for mentoring/protege relationships.

Men's Ministry
God holds men primarily responsible for the spiritual health of the body. Opportunities for male growth depend on a commitment by men in ministry together:
  • Breakfasts allow men to feed their heart, body, mind, and spirit.
  • Retreats offer time away from the daily routine.
  • Men can mentor each other as "iron sharpens iron".
  • Additional activities such as sports or community service help men bond closer together.

Spiritual Gifts
God gives every person at least one Spiritual gift. When we can use that gift to further God's kingdom, we can make a difference on a wide scale:
  • A personal assessment helps to reveal God's Spiritual gift(s) to any believer. When a person's gift(s) is matched to a ministry able to use those specific gifts, lives are supernaturally changed.
  • God's plan for a healthy church has volunteers that are not just warm bodies filling a need. Serving becomes a privilege and spiritual tanks are filled in greater proportion when Spiritual gifts are utilized.
  • There are no right or wrong gifts and no gift is better than another. Everyone can make a difference in someone's life.
