Pastor Ian Simkins, Lead Pastor
Ian came on staff at Poplar Creek Church in the summer of 2006 after spending the summer working with schools, churches, and orphanages throughout northern India, and served as the Pastor of Student Ministries from 2006 to 2010. Since his arrival in 2006, Ian has taught in schools and churches both locally and internationally, as well as partnered with many social justice organizations in the Chicagoland area.
In his free time he enjoys playing music, making art, running, biking, and reading.

Pastor Darrel Malcom, Pastor Emeritus
Pastor Darrel and his wife Karen have served in ministry for over 60 years and have been involved with Poplar Creek Church since 1992. Now retired, Pastor Darrel and Karen devote a lot of time to Kid's Aganist Hunger – Fox Valley (providing nourishing meals to the needy in Nicaragua and here in the Fox Valley Area) as well as a variety of ongoing church responsibilities and civic engagements.
"Miss Kim" Cody, Children's Ministries Director
Miss Kim, her husband Dave, and four children have attended Poplar Creek Church for 13 years. She has been involved with the children's ministry in a variety of roles for most of those years as well as co- teaching the 2 year old class at our preschool. She is currently serving as Director of Children's Ministries where she hopes to provide opportunities for children to connect with the Holy Spirit, know and love the Lord our God and develop a relationship with his Son.
"Miss Jen" Steichen, Schick's Crossing Preschool Director
Miss Jen has been with Schick's Crossing Preschool since the preschool's inception in 2004. She is currently serving her third year as Director. Having taught the 3's for six years, she is now in her second year of teaching the 4's and the Pre-K class. A graduate of Western Illinois University, Miss Jen is married, has two children and resides in Bartlett. For more information, see the Preschool Site: Schick's Crossing Preschool.
Kathleen Malick, Office Administrator
Kathleen Malick lives in Bartlett with her husband Galen and her daughter Ava Barclay. She comes from a church in Naperville where she spent over 2 years running the office and all operations. Prior to that, she worked for RR Donnelley & Fuji Film, then a few years as a stay at home mom. She has degrees in Fine Art (Textile) and Art (Visual Communications). She loves all the fabric crafts, has ballroomed danced for years (and still is), hanging out with friends, trying new restaurants and is a terrible piano player. She has many interests but not enough time for any of them.
